Something Good to Say

It’s time for another edition of Something Good to Say, where we round up some interesting, inspiring and intriguing blog  posts from around the internet in the last week or so.  In the next couple of days, there will be another Something Good to Say post featuring the participants of the group writing project.  If you want to be included and qualify to win our cool prizes, today’s your last chance to get your post included.  I’d love to see a few more entries by the time I go to bed tonight!  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these:

  • Darling Husband Rob is off camping at the moment, and he was excited to find out that there’s a meteor shower happening while he’s off in the dark woods.  With no light pollution, he should get a great view of the Perseid meteor shower.

  • You know those little plastic bubbles that contain toys in the quarter-vending machines?  I remember spending an entire afternoon when I was about six filling them with water and flower petals, convinced I could make perfume.  Yeah, I was an only child.  Anyway, tipnut.com is disseminating a cool ebook on how to make perfume for real!

  • If you’ve ever been unfortunate enough to be hounded by debt collectors, either due to your own financial problems or identity theft, you could probably benefit from Wisebread’s post on what the debt collectors can and cannot do.

  • Steve Olsen has compiled a pretty useful list of six ideas that can help one develop a strong character and integrity.

  • I love the Planet Earth video that was posted over at the Positivity Blog.  As an “honorary” Icelander (I was an exchange student there for a year), I think it's great that they used music from the Icelandic Band Sigur Ros.

  • This is another video clip with music.  Craig Harper posted this crazy clip of a young man actually rocking out on his electric guitar to . . . wait for it . . . Pachelbel’s Canon in D.  Very cool.

Have you seen anything particularly cool around the internet this week?  Post it in the comments so we can all check it out!

Thanks for the tips on how to get out of bed! I can use as many of those as I can :)

Thanks for these beautiful examples!
I did see a number of beautiful and inspiring initiatives (sorry for the long comment).
First of all, I noticed a couple of blogs writing on charity causes, sponsored by Navtej Kohli (http://navtej-kohli.livejournal.com/). He is a philantropist, who has apparently put up a request on SponsorReviews to write a (sponsored) post on any charity you like (given your blog has the right rankings probably). I love the idea! It's a bit of a shame that it's necessary, but the effect is beautiful.
Furthermore, a really nice post on Christy's Coffee break (http://christyscoffeebreak.blogspot.com/2007/08/since-secret-book-and-dvd-was-announced.html) on The Law of Attraction.
You might want to consider to ask her to enter this for the group writing project? Or I can if you want me too...
And last, but certainly not least.. this beautiful, beautiful video about Barbarra Guerra (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybgRS6832so).. Please check it out!!! If I had to pick an inspiring, beautiful 'Supermom' she would be it!
Hope you like these as much as I do,
